July 30th, 2004- Fenton Michigan Linear Measurement Instruments Corporation (LMI) long time measurement solutions provider to General Motors, has been awarded the "People Make Quality Happen Award" from General Motors for providing measurement tools, software and support for 27 General Motor's Fit Gate measurement stations.     "People Make Quality Happen Award" is an innovation of General Motors to recognize improvements to quality and customer satisfaction through teamwork and continuous improvements.

LMI and our solutions partners, ASI DataMyte were 1 of 10 entries out of 1000 to receive this prestigious award.   The Fit Gate program goals were to eliminate the use of older manual measurements method and provide immediate feedback on the quality for flush and gap body fits. The data collected can be traced to the specific vehicle and analyzed with SPC software. Increased quality along with the reduction of defects shipped to the customer is being realized.
