Hole Location Applications

In today's manufacturing environment, correct hole position is extremely important when properly lining up parts for a precision fit. LMI's dual-axis True Position probes were specifically designed with this in mind. Not only can it be used for circular hole location, but also for slot or stud location when utilizing a customized tip.

The Stamp of Approval:

A major US stamping facility's end customer needed two frames aligned within a quarter of a millimeter. LMI provided the stamping facility with two wireless true position probes (one with a custom slotted tip) going into LMI's UGI data collection software. The company now has an easy way to monitor hole location in their stamping process to make sure they adhere to their customer's tight tolerances.

3rd Axis Capabilities:

When used in conjunction with the LMI TP112 3rd Axis Probe and LMI 200 (or 200 Wireless) probe, surface measurements can be made use the same probe blocks as the True Position gauge, saving you - and ultimately your end customer - time and money. With this in place, capturing X, Y, and Z data is as simple as two button clicks.
